When will I start my period?

Look, Im not obbsessed with my period like you might be thinking, but I heard that you should have your period around 6 months after starting to get discharge. Now Ive almost been having discharge for a year, and I know that my mom didnt start her period until she was 14 but I also started puberty before she did by quite a bit. My didcharge is really thick if that has anything to do with how soon you get it, oh and yes I already have all the other signs but the only thing I know specifically is that it will be exactly 2 years on the 23 of July since I first started developing breasts.
